Block the Football Matches or Be Blocked: La Liga Warns VPNs in Spain

Block the Football Matches or Be Blocked: La Liga Warns VPNs in Spain

Spain’s football piracy battle has entered a new and far more aggressive phase. In a significant legal escalation, LaLiga is no longer focusing solely on internet service providers. Instead, the league is now demanding that VPN providers themselves block access to IP addresses associated with illegal football streams - or risk facing consequences.

Now, the strategy is expanding. The signal from La Liga is unmistakable: block football streams, or face potential restrictions.

Recent court decisions in Spain reportedly interpret VPN providers as intermediary services under the Digital Services Act framework. Under this logic, if VPN networks facilitate access to football streams - even indirectly - they may be compelled to implement their own blocking mechanisms. en savoir plus...

UK Moves to Block VPNs for Under-16s

UK Moves to Block VPNs for Under-16s

The UK government is now on the verge of introducing new rules that could effectively block VPN access for users under 16. What was once a policy discussion is rapidly turning into real regulation - and it may reshape how young people access the internet.

The goal, according to officials, is to prevent minors from bypassing age restrictions and accessing harmful content. Since VPNs can mask a user’s location and identity, lawmakers argue that they allow teenagers to get around content filters and safety systems.

In simple terms: if this measure moves forward as expected, under-16s in the UK may soon find VPN apps restricted, removed, or technically blocked from use. en savoir plus...

Telegram Blocked in Russia - How VPNs Bypass the Restrictions

Telegram users in Russia are once again dealing with an all-too-familiar problem: connections slow down, messages get delayed, and media can take forever to load or fail entirely. The app isn’t officially “gone,” but it doesn’t feel fully available either. That grey zone is intentional.

Instead of a clean ban, access becomes unreliable, just enough to frustrate users and quietly push them elsewhere.

Whenever Telegram is throttled or partially blocked, VPN usage spikes . Not because users want to “break rules,” but because they want the app to work normally. en savoir plus...

France Is Eyeing VPN Limits for Kids

France is tightening rules around social media access for under-15s, and the conversation has already drifted to the next “solution” on the political checklist: VPNs. One French official even framed it bluntly, suggesting VPNs are next to be evaluated as part of enforcing youth protections online.

If your first reaction is “Wait, what?”, you’re not alone.

But the bigger issue is this: VPNs are not some niche bypass gadget. They are basic internet safety infrastructure. Treating them like contraband is like trying to reduce speeding by banning seatbelts. en savoir plus...

Porn Sites Must Block VPNs Under Indiana Law

Indiana is trying a new way to control access to online porn. State officials say that porn websites should block users who visit through VPNs. According to them, this would help enforce age-verification laws and stop minors from seeing adult content.

Indiana already has a law that requires porn websites to check that users are over 18. In many cases, this means asking people to upload an ID or use a third-party verification service. The state argues that VPNs make these checks useless, because VPNs hide a user’s real location.

In simple terms, Indiana believes that if porn sites allow VPN traffic, they are helping people avoid the law. en savoir plus...
