Russia’s telecom regulator Roskomnadzor officially announced restrictions on voice and video calls made through WhatsApp and Telegram.
Messages still work, but calls now fail to connect - leaving millions unable to speak with friends, family, or colleagues.
The ban does not shut down the apps entirely — you can still send and receive messages. However, voice calls, video calls, and possibly group calls are being disrupted at the network level.

Recently, Brazil has banned the popular messaging application WhatsApp. Judge in Brazil issued a court order blocking the WhatsApp for 72 hours in the whole country.
